Ahead of the summer family fun with long road trips queued up, Tesla is implementing changes that aim to make distance travel more comfortable at night and in hot weather.

Besides the new Autopilot Strikeout system, the latest Tesla 2024.20 software update brings with it numerous improvements of features and options that aim to make long summer trips with the family more bearable.

This doesn’t mean that Tesla has found a way to quiet down the kids on the back seat, but it has improved the A/C for faster and quieter operation.

When the weather is hot, Tesla cars on the 2024.20 update will now be able to "cool down the cabin faster and maintain comfort at lower noise levels," a welcome change for Tesla drivers who have been complaining that the A/C fans sound a bit overworked.

Besides whisper quiet A/C operation, Tesla is bringing the promised cornering Adaptive Headlights feature to illuminate the road ahead better in turns and on the highway.

Teslas have been shipping with adaptive cornering certification for the housing of their Matrix LED headlights for a good while in the US now, and Tesla is finally delivering on the capability.

"Headlights now adapt for curves in the road ahead of you and illuminate farther when you are driving on motorways," says Tesla about the new 2024.20 update feature that aims to make dusk-till-dawn trips less tiring on the eyes.
