The Amazon Fire TV Soundbar is available to pre-order in the UK and Germany. The smart home device was launched in the US last September as a more affordable model. Now, it is rolling out to some countries in Europe.
The Fire TV Soundbar houses two speakers and offers a virtual 3D audio effect supporting DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio. With a black finish, the soundbar is relatively compact at 60 cm (~24 inches) long and comes with a remote. As its name suggests, the soundbar is designed to complement other products in the Amazon Fire TV range, including smart TVs. You can use the remote to control various Fire TV devices, simultaneously adjusting their volume and powering on or off. Devices can be linked using the accompanying HDMI cable, connecting to your TV's eARC/ARC port. Alongside the HDMI port at the soundbar's rear are USB-A and optical ports and a power input. Plus, thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can play music through the speaker from your smartphone or tablet.
You can currently pre-order the Amazon Fire TV Soundbar in the UK for the discounted price of £99.99; that's a 17% discount on the £119.99 RRP. In Germany, customers who pre-order get a 21% discount on the €139.99 RRP, lowering the price to €109.99. It is unclear how long these deals will last. The item will be released on July 29th, so customers can expect to receive their purchase from July 30th.
