Samsung's The Frame has a cheaper alternative, Amazon Ember Artline pre-orders now live

Amazon is looking to compete with Samsung’s The Frame TVs with its own lineup that it introduced in January at CES 2026. They are cheaper alternatives to Samsung’s offerings that typically sit in the $1,000+ range of TVs due to their iconic design and visual appeal. With the Ember Artline series, Amazon hopes to capture some of the market share and now the company has shared a sale date for the two models.

Through a post in its news website, Amazon has announced availability for the 55-inch and 65-inch models and they will go on sale starting April 22 in the US and Canada. UK and Germany will get them a bit later starting May 7. Pre-orders are already live. The 55-inch is priced at $900 while the 65-inch costs $1,100. In comparison, Samsung’s The Frame starts at $800 but that’s the 32-inch model. As per Amazon, The 55-inch variant costs $1,100 (currently $798) while the 65-inch costs $1,498 (currently $1,098). There is also a Pro version of these TV’s which starts at 65-inch and costs $2,098.

As for specifications, the Ember Artline TVs have HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ Adaptive, and Dolby Vision support. They are clocked at 60 Hz and have a matte anti-glare finish. For connectivity, you get three HDMI 2.0 ports, one HDMI 2.1 port with eARC, a USB 3.0 port, Wi-Fi 6, an Ethernet port, and a Digital Optical out port. There are two 10W speakers and both models support VESA mounting. The outer frames are magnetic and come in walnut, matte white, teak, ash, black oak, fig, midnight blue, pale gold, graphite, and silver.

Like Samsung, Amazon’s Ember Artline is also QLED with 4K resolution, but they run on the new and improved Fire TV (Fire OS) with Alexa+ features built in. Amazon is also offering a collection of more than 2,000 curated art pieces for free. For reference, Samsung offers 20 free artwork per month with many more included in the Art Store subscription which is priced at $5 a month.

Furthermore, Amazon is introducing a Match the Room feature that uses AI and photos of the user’s space to suggest artwork from the collection that is based on the room’s colors and style.
