The Amazon Fire TV Soundbar has been launched in the US. The company claims that the 2.0 channel device delivers an immersive virtual surround sound experience with DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio support. The soundbar features two 20W speakers, and Amazon suggests that the gadget is easy to set up, connecting to your TV using the included HDMI to HDMI cable.
Other ports on the Fire TV soundbar include Optical and USB-A. The device is compatible with all Fire TV models and other smart TVs with an eARC/ARC port, and you can also connect the soundbar to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. You can adjust the speaker using your TV remote or the included remote. Alternatively, you can change the volume, input and pair devices via Bluetooth using buttons on the soundbar. It is worth noting that the device does not support Alexa voice commands.
The soundbar can be placed on your media unit or mounted to the wall under your TV. Plus, a Low Power Mode reduces energy consumption when not in use. The gadget measures 24 x 3.5 x 2.5-in (~607 x 89 x 64 mm) and weighs 3.97 lbs (~1.8 kg). You can now buy the Amazon Fire TV Soundbar in the US for US$119.99.
