BenQ has unveiled the X500i and X300G projectors. Both models are 4K HDR short throw gaming devices with LED light sources; the X500i has a maximum brightness of 2,200 ANSI lumens, while the X300G peaks at 2,000 ANSI lumens. The gadgets cover 84% of the DCI-P3 and 95% of the Rec.709 color spaces, with a 500,000:1 contrast ratio and a 0.69-0.83 throw ratio.

As with the recently revealed X3100i, the X500i and X300G have modes to optimize the experience for various game types like RPG and SPG. Plus, the input lag is 16.7ms with a 4K@60Hz resolution, reducing to 4.2ms for 1080p@240Hz. You can perfect the image on the X500i using a 2D keystone correction tool, while the X300G has a Realtime Auto 3D Keystone feature, and both models are capable of 1.2X zoom. The projectors use Google TV, with Dolby Digital Plus, Chromecast and apps downloadable via Google Play.

The X500i has a pair of 5W speakers, and the X300G has a couple of 8W speakers alongside a patented passive radiator, with BenQ’s CinematicSound technology to enhance the audio for gaming. The BenQ X500i and X300G projectors are listed as “coming soon”, with prices of US$1,699 and US$1,799, respectively. Rumors suggest that the X500i will launch this November, while fans must wait until January for the X300G.
