Xiaomi Smart Home Panel Bluetooth Mesh Gateway now crowdfunding
The Xiaomi Smart Home Panel is now crowdfunding in China. The hub combines a 3.23-in (~82 mm) touchscreen with three wireless switches to control smart home devices. The brightness of the LED screen is automatically adjusted thanks to an integrated light sensor, protecting your eyes in low lighting.
The Smart Home Panel is a Bluetooth Mesh gateway, supporting Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi. Xiaomi suggests that this makes the gadget compatible with over 5,500 devices, including smart curtains, lights and robot vacuums. You can pair the panel with a central hub to improve network stability. Plus, you can set up smart home scenes in the Mijia app and customize the panel’s UI. The gadget allows you to control linked smart home devices with Xiao AI voice commands. The device is available in black or white, measuring 86 x 86 x 38.7 mm (~3.39 x 3.39 x 1.52-in); the hub can be wall-mounted or freestanding.
You can now receive the Xiaomi Smart Home Panel in China when you pledge 299 yuan (~US$41) to the Youpin crowdfunding campaign. The product is expected to retail for 329 yuan (~US$45), meaning these early customers who buy before October 18th save 30 yuan (~US$4). It is unclear when Xiaomi could begin the general sale of the hub or whether it will reach other markets.
