Switchbot S10 robot vacuum and mop unveiled with unusual dual station system
The Switchbot S10 robot vacuum and mop is now crowdfunding at Kickstarter. The device offers hands-free cleaning via an unusual dual-station system. The robot uses the Water Station to empty and refill its onboard water tanks and to clean the roller mop, and the separate Auto-empty Station empties the device’s dustbin and dries the mop head.
The S10 Pro’s Water Station has two pipes, allowing you to plumb it in for automatic water supply and drainage. Alternatively, you can use an external water tank instead of connecting to the plumbing. Switchbot suggests that the separate docks make finding an ideal location for the Water Station easier. The robot has up to 6,500 Pa suction power and mops up to 300 times per minute; the robot will automatically lift the mop when a carpet is detected to avoid wetting the fabric. Other features include an anti-tangle rubber brush, roller mop, LiDAR navigation and AI obstacle avoidance technology.
You can also use the S10 to empty the Switchbot Dehumidifier, available as an add-on, or refill the Switchbot Humidifier, launching in late 2024. The Switchbot S10 robot vacuum’s Kickstarter campaign already has over 800 backers, raising almost US$760,000, passing the original funding goal of US$10,000. The Early Bird pledge, the lowest level currently, costs US$899 and includes the water station, auto-empty station and external water tank. Compared to the US$1,199.99 MSRP, these customers save US$300.99.
