Onyx introduces new E-ink Android 12 tablet as BOOX Tab 10C Pro in China and BOOX Tab Ultra C Pro in US

Last month, Onyx started selling the BOOX Palma in Europe and the US. In summary, BOOX Palma is an E-reader with a 6.13-inch E Ink Carta display and an Android 11 installation that can access the Google Play Store. This month, the company has debuted the BOOX Tab 10C Pro, another tablet based around an E-ink display.

Specifically, Onyx has equipped the BOOX Tab 10C Pro with a Kaleido 3 E-ink colour display that measures 10.3-inches across. For reference, the tablet has a 2,480 x 1,860-pixel effective resolution in greyscale mode, which drops to 1,240 x 930 pixels when its colour filter is active. As Liliputing notes, the BOOX Tab 10C Pro shares plenty of features with the BOOX Tab Ultra C that it released in April.

However, BOOX Tab 10C Pro switches Android 11 for Android 12. Additionally, Onyx equips the BOOX Tab 10C Pro with 6 GB of RAM, 50% more than it includes in the BOOX Tab Ultra C. Also, it appears that the former has received a storage upgrade to the UFS 3.1 standard; the BOOX Tab Ultra C utilised slower UFS 2.1 flash storage. Seemingly, Onyx equips the BOOX Tab 10C Pro with the same 7 nm Qualcomm chipset, though.

For now, Onyx has only released the BOOX Tab 10C Pro in China, where it retails for CNY 4,699 (~US$643). With that being said, Onyx has just announced the same device as the BOOX Tab Ultra C Pro in the US, along with the BOOX Note Air3.
