Xiaomi reveals new Mijia Smart Curtains Telescopic Track Version with voice controls
The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Curtains Telescopic Track Version is now available to pre-order in China. A 16W motor has three-speed settings and runs quietly, producing under 30 dB of noise. You can use the gadget to open your curtains remotely or set a schedule to adjust the drapes at specific times of the day.
The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Curtains can be controlled via the Mijia app, with Xiao AI voice commands, a wireless remote or via a linked smart home device like the Smart Home Screen 10. Plus, you can start the curtain motor by gently pulling on the fabric, or manually close the curtains in case of a power outage. As the product’s name suggests, you can adjust the length of the track to suit your window. The gadget is only suitable for straight tracks, and Xiaomi claims that the closing position is accurate to 5 mm (~0.2-in). The motor measures 50 x 237 mm (~2.0 x 9.3-in) and supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity.
You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Curtain Telescopic Track Version in China with a deposit of 50 yuan (~US$7). The 1.75-3 m version is discounted for early customers from 699 yuan (~US$96) to 599 yuan (~US$82), while the longer 2.2-4 m track is reduced to 699 yuan (~US$96). It is unclear whether or when the gadget could launch in other markets like the US or Europe.
