Deal | JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar with 820 watts and Dolby Atmos gets steep 50% discount
Laying and hiding the wires for the rear satellite speakers may be the most tedious task for home theater enthusiasts who are setting up a full-fledged surround sound speaker system. Fortunately, the American audio specialist JBL has a Dolby Atmos soundbar in its lineup that is considerably easier to hook up and has now received one of its largest discounts to date.
To be more precise, the JBL Bar 9.1 is currently on sale for a whopping 50 percent off the official MSRP of US$1,200 at the brand's very own online store. The resulting sale price of US$595 including free shipping is one of the lowest prices we have tracked so far for this particular high-end soundbar. However, Camelcamelcamel's price tracker indicates that Amazon very briefly sold the JBL soundbar with Dolby Atmos support for US$26 less back in July, which apparently was an extremely short-lived sale that some prospective buyers might have missed out on.
As indicated above, the rear speakers of the JBL Bar 9.1 do not require any power or audio cables as the integrated battery and Bluetooth connection allows for a truly wireless playback time of up to ten hours. In order to recharge the satellites, they have to be attached to the side of the soundbar. Besides the massive total output power of 820 watts, the premium audio system comes with a thunderous 10-inch subwoofer with 300 watts and supports the all-important Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio formats that can create a quite immersive sound stage. On sale for less than US$600, this soundbar is arguably worth consideration for television owners who would like to avoid the wiring-related hassle of traditional AVR-based home theater systems.
