Nothing publishes CMF Phone 1 documentation to help fans create cases and accessories
The CMF Phone 1's (available on Amazon.de for €202) replaceable back cover and accessories has generated a lot of buzz, and unsurprisingly, in just a day after its announcement, several fans have come up with ideas and designs for new cases and accessories of their own. To support this creative zest, Nothing has released documentation to help fans create dimensionally-accurate accessories and cases for the CMF Phone 1.
Earlier today, Carl Pei, the CEO and founder of Nothing, posted on X asking if Nothing should release publicly the CAD file for the CMF Phone 1 for those who wish to create cases and accessories for the device. This was in response to a tweet of a render of a CMF Phone 1 case that can hold trading cards.
A few hours later after that tweet, Nothing published a post on its community page along with documentation that outlines the physical dimensions of the CMF Phone 1. The documentation includes dimensions of the rear case, screw, and accessory point cover as well as an .stl file of the rear cover for those who want to 3D print their own case.
Wow – fire! Should we release the CAD file publicly? It will be fun to see what our community can come up with. https://t.co/YOvOXufhGd

With these documents, we can expect to see a plethora of cases and accessories for the CMF Phone 1. Nothing has even disclosed that it may even explore the possibility of producing some of the ideas its community members come up with.
On the other hand, it adds a disclaimer that it will not be responsible for any compatibility problems or damage to the CMF Phone 1 that may arise from the use of unofficial community creations. Nothing has also stated that the creation, development, or use of unofficial accessories is at the individual's risk.
