ViewSonic XG272-2K-OLED: New 240 Hz OLED gaming monitor released in Europe and the UK
Earlier this week, ViewSonic finally revealed how much its XG272-2K-OLED costs in the US, having debuted the monitor in early February 2024. It turns out that the monitor is also available through third-party retailers in both the Eurozone and the UK, too. However, TFTCentral suggests that the XG272-2K-OLED may carry a lower MSRP in the UK than Amazon UK reports.
Specifically, Amazon UK has listed the XG272-2K-OLED for £959. While the monitor is orderable through the retailer, it reports that it may not begin shipping until mid-June 2024 at the earliest. According to TFTCentral, ViewSonic plans to give the monitor a UK release next month for £799. Unfortunately, the company does not mention pricing or availability in its UK press release.
By contrast, the XG272-2K-OLED is available for €1,159 in the Eurozone via Cyberport. In other words, the monitor is slightly more expensive in the Eurozone than in the UK. With that being said, the XG272-2K-OLED costs significantly less in the US, even after subtracting VAT from its Eurozone and UK prices. To recap, the XG272-2K-OLED shares its LG Display WOLED panel with the UltraGear OLED 27GS95QE that LG released globally towards the end of February.
Hence, the XG272-2K-OLED actually outputs at 2.5K (2,560 x 1,440) panel and not 2K, despite its name. Additionally, the monitor offers a 240 Hz refresh rate, 450 nits (HDR) peak brightness and 0.02 ms GtG response times. On top of that, the AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible monitor features the following I/O:
- 2x 3 W speakers
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 2x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 3x USB Type-A
- 1x USB Type-B
- 1x USB Type-C
