Philips has started selling three new budget monitors. Expanding its E1 series to seven options, the 24E1N1100A, 27E1N1100A and 27E1N1600AE all deliver 100 Hz refresh rates but differ in their panel sizes, resolutions and port selections, among other differences.

A few months ago, Philips introduced its E1 series by way of four monitors. In summary, the company unveiled two 24-inch and 27-inch options apiece ranging from £129.99/€169 to £159.99/€199. Subsequently, Philips has expanded the E1 series with three more monitors, which it markets as the 24E1N1100A, 27E1N1100A, and 27E1N1600AE.

Like the original E1 series, these new additions rely upon IPS panels that support 100 Hz refresh rates. However, the 27E1N1600AE is the first in the series that output at more than 1080p. Specifically, the 27E1N1600AE delivers a 2,560 x 1,440 (QHD) native resolution compared to 1,920 x 1,080 (FHD) for the 24E1N1100A and 27E1N1100A. All three monitors have flat finishes. Please see our table below for more differences and similarities between the three monitors:
