New Acer Predator gaming monitor revealed with huge QD-OLED curved panel
Acer has introduced several new monitors in the last few months, several of them based around OLED panels. For example, the Predator XB273K V3 and Predator XB323QU M3 arrived in February and March, respectively, both with IPS panels. Prior to that, the company used CES 2024 to showcase the following OLED and Mini LED examples:
It turns out that Acer has developed another monitor that sits between the sizes of the Predator X39 and Predator Z57. However, while the company detailed the Predator X49 X late last year, its existence has only recently come to attention thanks to the endeavours of DisplaySpecifications. Incidentally, the monitor was entirely missing from Acer's CES 2024 coverage.
With that being said, the Predator X49 X does not contain a new or rare display panel like the Cooler Master GZ2713 or MSI MPG 272QPX. Instead, it relies upon the same Gen 2 QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display as the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 and RedMagic Realm. Thus, it outputs at 5,120 x 1,440 pixels and 240 Hz with a 32:9 aspect ratio and an 1800R curvature. Moreover, the Predator X49 X is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified for 250 nits SDR and 1,000 nits HDR peak brightnesses. Unfortunately, Acer has not yet outlined pricing or availability. Nonetheless, the Predator X49 X should feature the following I/O:
- 1x 3.5 mm combo jack
- 2x 5W speakers
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 2x USB Type-A
- 1x USB Type-B
- 1x USB 3.2 Type-C (90 W Power Delivery/DisplayPort Alt Mode)
