Corsair has joined ASUS, MSI and others in releasing a 34-inch gaming monitor based on a 1440p and 240 Hz QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display. While MSI's equivalent has now dropped below $800, Corsair has positioned its alternative at almost $1,200.

Corsair has now released its latest Xeneon gaming monitor, a brand that is still stylised as XENEON. To recap, the Xeneon 34WQHD240-C mirrors the recent MSI MPG 341CQPX (curr. $779.99 on Amazon) by being one of the few monitors available with Samsung Display's 1440p, 240 Hz and 34-inch QD-OLED panel. Incidentally, the Predator X34 X5 also appears to rely upon the same panel technology, although Acer has not released the monitor yet.

As we have discussed previously, the Xeneon 34WQHD240-C outputs natively at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, while Corsair boasts that the monitor offers 1,000 nits peak brightness, it only reaches this luminosity in HDR mode across 3% of its panel. By contrast, its full panel brightness will be somewhere around 250 nits. Furthermore, the Xeneon 34WQHD240-C features a glossy finish that Corsair has 'coated to reduce glare when you have bright light sources in the background'.

The monitor has plenty of ports too, including four USB Type-A connections, two Type-C connections and three dedicated video outputs. As far as we can tell, the Xeneon 34WQHD240-C is now available across the UK, US and the Eurozone. Somewhat surprisingly, Corsair has priced its new monitor on the high side, with £1,149.99, $1,199.99 and €1,349.99 shown on its websites and on Amazon. As a result, the Xeneon 34WQHD240-C is more expensive than many of its peers, even W-OLED alternatives like the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM (curr. $1,189 on Amazon).
