ASUS has revealed a few OLED gaming monitors of late, including the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM. Now, the company has released the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG, a monitor that it compares against last year's ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM in its marketing materials. In short, the XG27AQDMG matches the PG27AQDM with a 1440p resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate.
Thus, it would seem that little actually separates the XG27AQDMG from its predecessor. However, there are a few noteworthy improvements, including one that is exclusive to the XG27AQDMG. According to ASUS, the XG27AQDMG gets 20% brighter across its entire 27-inch panel (100% APL) than the PG27AQDM.
Unfortunately, ASUS has not yet shared specific brightness details. Nonetheless, the monitor's other specifications suggest that the XG27AQDMG utilises the same third-generation WOLED panel technology as the UltraGear OLED 27GS95QE (curr. $729 on Amazon) that LG released earlier this year. With that being said, ASUS has applied a glossy coating to the XG27AQDMG, which it claims is a first for a WOLED monitor. Currently, the XG27AQDMG is available in Canada and China for CAD$1,083.99 and CNY 4,999 (~$691), respectively. ASUS has not revealed pricing for other markets yet, such as Europe and the US.
