ASUS fully reveals ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM as LG UltraGear OLED 39GS95QE before delayed summer 2024 release
ASUS has shared more details about the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM, over three months after its debut during CES 2024 in Las Vegas. For reference, the company showcased the 39-inch gaming monitor alongside other ROG Swift OLED monitors like the PG27AQDP and PG32UCDM. Since then, ASUS has started selling the PG32UCDM, as well as the PG34WCDM and PG49WCD, but not the PG27AQDP or PG39WCDM.
While ASUS has not released the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM yet, it has now provided more device details through an official product listing. To recap, the company previously confirmed that the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM would utilise a 3,440 x 1,440-pixel (WQHD) panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and an 800R curvature. Additionally, the monitor was said to have a 240 Hz refresh rate and could peak at 1,300 nits with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.
Ultimately, it appears that the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM relies upon the same panel as the UltraGear OLED 39GS95QE (curr. $1,499.99 on Amazon) that LG released last month. As such, the former matches the latter with 10-bit colour depth, 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, 0.03 ms GtG response times and Delta-E colour deviations of less than 2. Moreover, ASUS equips the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM with the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC)
- 2x SPDIF out (Optical Digital Audio Out)
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode & 90 W USB Power Delivery)
Unfortunately, ASUS has not confirmed how much the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM costs yet. It is worth keeping in mind that LG charges $1,499.99 for the UltraGear OLED 39GS95QE. Thus, the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM likely retail for about as much when it eventually launches. According to Prad.de, ASUS informed it that the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM was running late and will likely be available this summer.
