Predator Z57: Acer reveals lower than expected pricing for huge Mini LED gaming monitor
Acer has shared new information about one of its forthcoming gaming monitors, three months after its initial showcase. To recap, the Predator Z57 was one of many gaming monitors that Acer exhibited at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, with others being the Predator X34 X, Predator X34 V3 and Predator X39. Subsequently, it turned out that it published a short introductory video for the Predator X49 X as well, details of which we have covered separately.
As its name suggests, the Predator X57 is the largest of the bunch at 57-inches across. Additionally, Acer bases the monitor around an IPS panel with 2,304 Mini LED backlight zones, compared to QD-OLED for the Predator X49 X. Thus, while the Predator X57 will have slower response times than the Predator X49 X, it is still VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified and provides 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
The Predator X57 also outputs in a 32:9 aspect ratio with a 7,680 x 2,160 (DUHD) native resolution complemented by a 120 Hz refresh rate. Initially, Acer stated that it would release the monitor this quarter (Q2 2024) for €2,399 in the Eurozone and $2,499 in the US. However, it has now adjusted its launch price to $1,999.99.
Unfortunately, the company has not included pricing on its German or UK product listings. Likewise, it remains to be seen when the Predator Z57 will become available in any market yet, either. With that being said, the appearance of the monitor on multiple regional websites and with pricing in the US implies that the monitor will become orderable soon.
