Gigabyte has lifted the lid on the AORUS FO27Q2, another 27-inch gaming monitor based around a Samsung Display QD-OLED panel. Seemingly, the Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q2 is a showcase for a new 1440p and 240 Hz QD-OLED panel though, which will likely be cheaper than its 360 Hz counterpart.

Gigabyte has announced the AORUS FO27Q2, not long after releasing the similarly named AORUS FO27Q3 (curr. $799.99 on Amazon). Like the AORUS FO27Q3 before it, the AORUS FO27Q2 spans 27-inches across and relies upon a Samsung Display-derived QD-OLED panel. Likewise, the AORUS FO27Q2 outputs at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (1440p/2.5K).

However, it combines this resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate, not 360 Hz, like the AORUS FO27Q3 and its other Gen 3 QD-OLED contemporaries. As far as we can tell, the AORUS FO27Q2 is the first example of this new 27-inch and 1440p/240 Hz QD-OLED panel. Unfortunately, Gigabyte does not offer enough details to determine whether this panel contains the Pico-Inkjet process and Quantum Enhancer technology present on existing Gen 3 QD-OLED panels.

Instead, Gigabyte outlines that the AORUS FO27Q2 also boasts 0.03 ms GtG response times, 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 250 nits full panel brightness or 1,000 nits when viewing HDR content (APL 3%). Moreover, the panel is factory-calibrated to deliver Delta E deviations of less than 2, which complements its VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 and VESA Certified ClearMR 13000 certification. Meanwhile, an adjustable stand provides a range of ergonomic adjustments, including height (up to 130 mm), pivot (-0° to +90°), swivel (±20°) and tilt (-5° to +20°).

Alternatively, the monitor has 100 x 100 mm VESA mounts for using a third-party stand solution. Furthermore, Gigabyte has included a pair of 5 W speakers, a KVM switch and the following ports; a release date and pricing remain unknown for now, though:

  • 1x 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • 1x 3.5 mm microphone jack
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 2x USB 3.2 Type-A downstream
  • 1x USB 3.2 Type-A upstream
  • 1x USB Type-C (DisplayPort alternate mode; upstream port; 18 W power delivery)
