Samsung is unlikely to be pleased about the numerous leaks of its Galaxy Unpacked product range, but the leaks did have one positive aspect: countless eyes examined every single minute detail of all information to date and have just ensured the correction of a potential error. As we were the first to report exclusively, a website last week leaked all the technical details of the Galaxy Z Flip6, containing a small surprise that subsequently circulated on other tech websites.
According to the leak, Samsung was switching to an IPS panel instead of OLED for the Galaxy Z Flip 6's 3.4-inch cover display, compared to the Galaxy Z Flip5 (available here at Amazon), which would naturally be quite a downgrade and unworthy of a flagship in 2024. However, SamMobile has just reported that this is likely to be a mistake. Their sources have confirmed that the new Samsung flip phone also has a secondary display with an OLED panel, so someone may well have made a mistake when compiling the spec sheet.
This means that the innovations that have been expected for weeks, which primarily concern the 50 MP main camera, the larger battery and the new Galaxy AI features, are still expected. In contrast to earlier leaks, the Galaxy Z Flip6 will not be more expensive in Europe, although this unfortunately does not apply to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The first Galaxy Ring is also likely to be quite expensive when it launches on July 10, 2024. Also expected at the Galaxy Unpacked event are the Galaxy Watch 7, the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro, which can already be seen in hands-on images.
