Barely any time has passed since Xiaomi unveiled the MIX Flip, its first clamshell foldable. In short, Xiaomi's usage of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 arguably makes the MIX Flip the closest rival to the Galaxy Z Flip6 (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon), which Samsung equips with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. A Chinese-only release limits this comparison to Xiaomi's home market for now, though.
As such, the Galaxy Z Flip6 only has to compete with the less powerful Motorola Razr 50 Ultra globally, which features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 like the Edge 50 Ultra. With that being said, there have been suggestions that Xiaomi intends to release the MIX Flip internationally for roughly $100 less than Samsung charges for the Galaxy Z Flip6. Unfortunately, this has not been officially confirmed this yet and has only been speculated upon by leakers.
Nonetheless, Wonda Mobile is already selling global models worldwide. As Kartikey Singh notes, the retailer is able to do so because it imports handsets from Hong Kong, where Xiaomi pre-installs global ROMs. Consequently, one should encounter no app incompatibility issues that are common for devices running Chinese ROMs, whether that being unable to use Android Auto and Google Wallet or banking apps. Currently, the MIX Flip is available to purchase through Wonda Mobile for $1,189 in black and purple colours with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
