Sony has now confirmed the launch date of its next Xperia devices, full details of which we have covered separately. Incidentally, the company's global launch precedes an Xperia special event scheduled for May 17, which it announced almost a month ago. While Sony is anticipated to deliver the mid-range Xperia 10 VI, it also seems to have prepared an Xperia 1 V successor (curr. $1,198 on Amazon).
Unsurprisingly, Sony has not revealed any technical details about either device, yet. Nonetheless, Evan Blass has already shared promotional images of the Xperia 10 VI. Likewise, various sources have offered insights into the Xperia 1 VI. Subsequently, Blass followed up his Xperia 10 VI leak with an equivalent set of photos relating to the Xperia 1 VI.
Based on the images below, Sony has equipped this year's Xperia 1 with upgraded cameras, the primary of which is an 'Exmor T for mobile' sensor. Moreover, the Xperia 1 VI will sport a periscope telephoto camera that can zoom between 85 mm and 170 mm equivalent focal lengths. As previous leaks suggested, the Xperia 1 V successor will feature a 5,000 mAh battery too, as well as an improved cooling system that should sit beneath a 19.5:9 aspect ratio display.
