Amazfit T-Rex 2's latest update brings new features and optimizations
The Amazfit T-Rex 2 smartwatch is receiving an update, version 9.54.5.1. The latest software includes new features, such as support for an external cycling power meter connected via Bluetooth, which allows you to track more data for cycling workouts. You can also get navigation for imported routes for winter sports, such as skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding.
The T-Rex 2 has been updated to show more precise time measurements. For example, your workout duration is now displayed to the nearest 0.01 seconds. Optimizations have also been made across various features; for example, the GPS firmware has been upgraded, improving activity tracking. User interactions, like key and button touches, have been improved on the data page before and during a workout, with distance and real-time performance reminders tweaked. Plus, Amazfit has optimized the distance calculation for lower-speed sports such as trail running and improved the step frequency measurement for those with a higher step rate when running.
Connecting the Amazfit T-Rex 2 smartwatch to the Zepp app will allow you to download update 9.54.5.1. It is worth noting that the new software is still rolling out, with customers notified via the app when the latest version is available for their wearable. Amazfit will then provide instructions on downloading and installing the update. Other models from the brand, such as the Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4, have also recently received new software.
