Amazfit Balance gains new features and improvements with latest software update
Amazfit is continuing with its latest round of software updates for recent smartwatches, having started earlier this month with the Cheetah and Cheetah Pro. Subsequently, the company brought new features and improvements to the Falcon, as well as the T-Rex Ultra. Now, it has turned its attention to the Balance (curr. US$199.99 on Amazon), a smartwatch that it released in September.
According to Gadgets & Wearables, the Balance's new update enables real-time performance alerts while running. In short, the Amazfit has designed the feature to provide feedback during an activity so that runners can adjust their pace to maintain pre-determined targets. For reference, this functionality is already available on the Cheetah series. Additionally, the Balance can now track swimming and jump rope exercise modes, which work in tandem with new post-workout heart rate monitoring.
Reportedly, this will run for up to three minutes after finishing a workout with a view to improving understanding of heart rate recovery times. Gadgets & Wearables adds that Amazfit has also expanded personalised running plans to include 3 km races, with the feature previously restricted to 5 km and 10 km races instead. Moreover, Zepp Pay can now be opened by double-pressing its digital crown, albeit only for smartwatches based in the EU. Supposedly, Amazfit has improved body composition and Readiness score accuracy too, among other minor improvements.
