A few days before the official unveiling of the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 4, the manufacturer has provided more details about the technical specifications of the watch for the first time via Weibo. The details pertain to the case as well as the display and the straps.
The Redmi Watch 4 will be equipped with a particularly large screen, which has a screen diagonal of 1.97 inches, but the manufacturer has not yet commented on the resolution. An AMOLED with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a brightness of 600 cd/m² is installed, which is more in line with the standard for smartwatches than a unique selling point.
The manufacturer once again states that this is the first Redmi smartwatch with a metal casing, which is intended to give a high-quality feel. The metal crown, which is diamond-cut and will likely for allow for navigation through menus, is also a strong advertising point. The smartwatch is said to be customizable, so different straps are available and these can be changed via a quick-release system. There are over 100 different watch faces to choose from.
The products will be presented on Wednesday, November 29. Information on pricing is not yet available. The predecessor, the Redmi Watch 3, is available at Amazon for USD 109.99. It's unlikely that the Redmi Watch 4 will be much cheaper. Also unclear is whether a cheaper Active version of the Redmi Watch 4 will be launched on the market like its predecessor.
