Xiaomi Redmi K70 Pro surfaces before November 29 release running flagship chipset with 24 GB RAM

A new unreleased Xiaomi smartphone has appeared on Geekbench before its Chinese debut. As the screenshot below shows, people have been benchmarking 23117RK66C, a model number that had previously been linked to the Redmi K70 Pro. For reference, it seems that Xiaomi is also preparing to release the Redmi K70 and Redmi K70E during its November 29 launch event, as well as a few other Redmi-branded devices.

As always, Geekbench does not explicitly mention some device specifications, such as the chipset powering 23117RK66C. Instead, the benchmarking platform mentions an identifier 'ARM implementer 65 architecture 8 variant 0 part 3458 revision 1'. Not only does this match the identifier for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but so do its four CPU clusters, which culminate in an ARM Cortex-X4 clocked at 3.3 GHz. Also, Qualcomm has included four Cortex-A720 CPU cores split into two clusters of two cores each, two Cortex-A520 efficiency cores and an Adreno 750 GPU. 

Additionally, Geekbench reports 23117RK66C as having 24 GB of RAM, which exceeds the expected RAM configuration of the Redmi K70. With the Redmi K70E likely a cheaper version of the Redmi K70, that only leaves the Redmi K70 Pro as the likely candidate for 23117RK66C. Predictably, Xiaomi has based the handset around Android 14, which will arrive as HyperOS. While the Redmi K70 series will launch next week in China, Xiaomi is expected to wait until early 2024 before offering the series elsewhere, possibly as the POCO F6 Pro for the Redmi K70 Pro.
