New images of Nothing's next smartphone have emerged online, courtesy of leakers like @stufflistings. Embedded below, the photos mirror those that @heyitsyogesh shared in mid-December. Specifically, the same 'leak-proof' case is visible, which contains cut-outs for the device's two rear-facing cameras and LED flash array.
However, a third photo of the Phone (2a) has since appeared online with a different rear design. Sporting the 'A142' model number of previous Phone (2a) leaks, this new photo suggests that Nothing will maintain the camera layouts of the Phone (1) and Phone (2) rather than the alleged circular design seen previously. Please note that there is more evidence that Nothing has adopted the latter for the Phone (2a) than the former.
At any rate, the Phone (2a) is expected to combine the Samsung ISOCELL GN9 from the Motorola Moto G84 with the ISOCELL JN1 that Nothing already offers in the Phone (2) (curr. $690 on Amazon). In other words, the Phone (2a) will deliver a pair of 50 MP rear-facing cameras, which should be joined by a 16 MP front-facing camera. While December's leaked photos were relatively low-resolution affairs, those provided by @stufflistings show the same smartphone in greater detail.
Thus, relatively slim size bezels can be seen, the top of which is completely exposed. Rumoured to be a 6.7-inch panel, it is currently unclear whether this will be a curved or flat panel. Nothing will present the Phone (2a) with a Dimensity 7200 chipset on February 27. All in all, Nothing's next mid-range option will compete with the likes of the Pixel 8a and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, albeit for about €400, €50 less than Xiaomi's premier Redmi Note 13 series handset.
