Not much time has elapsed since Xiaomi unveiled the POCO X6 series globally, which began in mid-January with the POCO X6 5G (curr. $331.79 on Amazon) and the POCO X6 Pro 5G. According to new reports, the company is also preparing to deliver a third model as the POCO X6 Neo.
An unexplored name for the POCO brand, the POCO X6 Neo is said to be an Indian exclusive, at least initially. Supposedly, Xiaomi will target an INR 15,000 price range, which converts to $180 at current exchange rates. By contrast, the POCO X6 5G starts at CNY 19,999 (~$241) with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.
Unsurprisingly, the POCO X6 Neo will utilise weaker hardware than its POCO X6 5G in some respects. On the one hand, the former may feature a 120 Hz AMOLED and 6.67-inch display like the latter. However, other specifications like a Dimensity 6080 chipset and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33 W wired charging point towards the POCO X6 Neo being a re-branded Redmi Note 13 5G or Redmi Note 13R Pro. Thus, the POCO X6 Neo may have a 1080p panel rather than the 1220p equivalent that graces the POCO X6 5G. Unfortunately, other POCO X6 Neo details remain unknown at this stage, including a release date.
