Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 camera upgrades leak with Xiaomi 14 Ultra set to debut three new in-house chips

Word on the grapevine indicates Xiaomi is set to bring its foldables to the global market this year for the first time ever. The Mix Flip is tipped to be unveiled at MWC this month as an early alternative to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip6, but it's the Mix Fold 4 that will be Xiaomi's truly premium foldable device for the year.

While it's unknown when the Mix Fold 4 will launch, it can be expected to arrive much later in the year, likely around October, and will do so with a slew of upgrades over last year's Mix Fold 3. According to a new leak, the Mix Fold 4 will bring camera hardware improvements, with the 50 MP sensor being upgraded to a more powerful "super outsole" sensor. In addition to that, the Mix Fold 4 will sport an ultra-wide-angle snapper, a 3x zoom lens, and a 5x zoom periscope camera. The foldable is also said to get new, improved optics.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is set to debut with three new chips. Xiaomi has taken to developing in-house chips for its premium devices over the past few years and that will continue with the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra. According to Kartikey Singh, the flagship—expected to be unveiled later this month—will feature the Surge C4 camera chip, the Surge P3 charging chip, and the Surge G3 battery management chip.
