The OPPO Find N2 Flip inevitably draws a lot of comparisons with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, in that they are both clamshell Android smartphones with cutting-edge foldable main displays. They also have dual rear cameras - then again, according to the latest independent test results, they are better in the newer OPPO device. Its Hasselblad dual shooters have lifted it above its rival in the DxOMark rankings, albeit not by much.

OPPO aims for camera mastery in every premium-grade smartphone it makes, which is why even the dual-rear-camera Find N2 Flip got the Hasselblad and MariSilicon X treatment at its launch. Then again, it seems this strategy might have paid off, as the smartphone has just been placed above its Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 clamshell rivals in the DxOMark mobile camera rankings.

The group did find that the N2 Flip's white balance, color accuracy and exposure was lacking in some scenarios; nevertheless, its dynamic range, auto-focus in video and bokeh performance were enough to place it above the Z Flip4.

That is not to say it ranked particularly highly overall, landing in joint 69th place with other devices including the Nothing phone (1) and, interestingly enough, the vanilla Find X5.

Nevertheless, the Z Flip4 now languishes in joint 76th position (with the OPPO Reno8 5G), even though it scored just 2 points fewer than its OPPO rival: 112, compared to 114 for the late-2022 clamshell.

The Z Flip4 is still the only one available to buy direct from Amazon, however.
