Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro gets Harmony OS 4 in new update
The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro smartwatch is receiving Harmony OS 4 in a new global update. This release follows the rollout of the upgraded operating system for the Watch 3 series in China. The latest software for the wearable, version 4.0.0.111(C00M07), brings a range of new features and improvements.
The update brings changes to the interface, such as the ability to view app names in the app grid when you zoom in by rotating the crown. A touch protection or screen lock tool has been added for use while training to prevent you from accidentally triggering a feature on the smartwatch. You can customize which statistics are shown for a workout type and how the data is displayed on the screen. Plus, the Enable Screen feature allows you to set the screen to switch on when a notification is received.
Optimizations to the Watch GT 3 Pro include easier-to-read text, faster access to notification settings, and an improvement to the always-on-display (AOD) to show more information. The alarm function and training data accuracy have also been upgraded. The update is relatively large at 157 MB, with Huawei noting that the download and installation process “may take a little time”. The company also encourages users to ensure they have the latest version of the Huawei Health app before proceeding with the update. Also seemingly receiving new software is the Huawei Watch GT 4; while the changelog is different, the update has the same version number as its predecessor.
