Garmin rolls out bug fixes and new improvements to popular smartwatches via new update
The Venu 3 and Venu 3S are now eligible to receive a new beta update, almost a month on from their most recent build. As far as we can tell, Garmin has not released new firmware in any capacity since the end of January, even on its stable software distribution channel. In fact, it seems that the Venu 3 and Venu 3S remain stuck on v8.25, which Garmin started distributing three months ago.
Inexplicably, Beta 9.24 contains the same changelog as earlier builds like Beta 9.18. Thus, Garmin describes Beta 9.24 as making the following improvements to the Venu 3 and Venu 3S:
- Added jump rope activity
- Added support for male audio prompts (requires a download of new audio files)
- Fixed an issue where music will randomly start playing
- Fixed an issue where higher rate of battery drain could occur with wrist heart rate turned off
- Fixed an issue where changing a setting during a golf activity could cause scoring to be turned off
Additionally, Beta 9.24 introduces new icon animation and GCM translation updates, which have reached v1.05 and v2.14, respectively. As always, the new beta update for the Venu 3 and Venu 3S can be downloaded by heading to Main Menu, then Settings, System and finally Software update. Please note that all current and future beta builds disable ECG functionality, other than those that Garmin considers Release Candidate worthy. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
