The Garmin Index BPM Smart Blood Pressure Monitor is now on sale in the EU. The gadget, designed to help you track your blood pressure and heart rate, was launched in countries like the US and the UK in 2022. Like other blood pressure monitors, the Index has an adjustable cuff for your upper arm.

Garmin indicates that the Index BPM device has been clinically validated via a trial with 85 participants and shown to provide blood pressure readings accurate to within 3 mmHg and pulse readings accurate to within 5%. Plus, the FDA has cleared the gadget as a Class II medical device in the US. Thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity, the measurements are viewable on the built-in display or in the Garmin Connect app on your phone. You can also use Garmin Connect to share readings with your doctor and trigger alerts to remind you to check your blood pressure. Up to 16 people can share the device with unique user profiles to log historical readings for comparison.

The gadget is expected to run for nine months before you need to replace the four AAA batteries. You can buy the Garmin Index BPM Smart Blood Pressure Monitor in countries like the Netherlands, France and Germany for €179.99. The gadget retails for $149.99 in the US and £255.00 in the UK.
