Vera Ring health tracking wearable promising many features now crowdfunding
A new smart health-tracking wearable, the Vera Ring, is now crowdfunding on Indiegogo. With 30 days remaining, the campaign already has over 900 backers, raising more than $220,000; this far exceeds the $20,000 funding goal. Vera Health, the company behind the gadget, promises many features on the project page.
The Vera Ring can track metrics across six categories: heart, stress, sleep, respiratory, immune system and activity. The insights for each section are derived from various measurements, such as BPM, SpO2, VO2 Max, HRV, and temperature, with sensors including PPG with mirror prism technology and a 6-axis accelerometer. Plus, the company suggests that you will be able to use the ring to track your blood pressure and fertility in the future. An AI assistant provides tips on improving your health based on the collected data and is said to be able to detect early signs of health problems. However, you must seek professional medical advice for a diagnosis. Health statistics can be viewed in the accompanying app, with the option to share information with your family or doctor.
The built-in battery allows the Vera Ring to last up to seven days on a single charge. The wearable has a durable finish, is available in six colors, and is waterproof. You can pledge $249 to the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to receive the Vera Ring, assuming the project is completed. Vera Health says the wearable will retail for $349, meaning early customers save $100, and also get a lifetime app membership. The product will be shipped worldwide to campaign backers starting May 2024.
