Xiaomi Watch 2 already orderable for €199 from Amazon before official release
Xiaomi has not officially commented on the release of a new smartwatch yet. However, various sources have provided ample evidence that a new smartwatch has been prepared as the Xiaomi Watch 2. For context, the Xiaomi Watch 2 first appeared little over a week ago at Finnish retailer Keskisen Kello in black and silver finishes. Subsequently, several European retailers listed the smartwatch for €199, details of which we have covered separately.
Now, GSMArena has discovered that Amazon is selling the Xiaomi Watch 2 in Germany. Additionally, it seems that there were corresponding Italian product listings that Amazon has since taken down. Nonetheless, the Xiaomi Watch 2 has been available through Amazon Germany since approximately February 9 and is still available to pre-order at the time of writing.
Moreover, both listings reveal that Xiaomi is due to release the smartwatch on February 25. In other words, the Xiaomi Watch 2 will be joining Xiaomi's MWC 2024 showcase, which will also include the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Pad 6S Pro 12.4. Based on other Xiaomi Watch 2 leaks, the smartwatch will ship with the same overarching hardware as the Watch 2 Pro, including a Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Xiaomi has made savings in some areas though, including the removal of a digital crown. Presumably, Xiaomi will fully detail the Watch 2 later this week.
