Xiaomi is preparing another crack at established Wear OS options, whether that be the Galaxy Watch6, Pixel Watch 2 or the TicWatch Pro 5. Based on leaked retailer listings, Xiaomi's next smartwatch will arrive for about €200 but with the same core specifications as the Watch 2 Pro.

It seems that Xiaomi is preparing to release another Wear OS smartwatch, almost five months after presenting the Watch 2 Pro. Now, Finnish retailer Keskisen Kello has listed the Xiaomi Watch 2, which it has shown in black and silver finishes with corresponding TPU watch bands. As far as we can tell, these bands conform to the 22 mm quick-release standard, which would make the Watch 2 compatible with countless third-party band options. Keskisen Kello also lists the model number M2320W1, the first sighting of which occurred in November 2023 at Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore, and the following device specifications:

  • 47.6 x 45.9 x 11.8 mm dimensions (46 mm case size)
  • 1.43-inch AMOLED display, 466 x 466-pixel resolution, 326 PPI
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset
  • Five-satellite GNSS system
  • Aluminium alloy housing
  • Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity
  • 5 ATM waterproofing

In short, the Watch 2 shares most of its hardware with the Watch 2 Pro, including its display, Qualcomm chipset and GNSS system. Additionally, Keskisen Kello quotes up to 65 hours of battery life, albeit without sharing a battery capacity. However, we can infer from Xiaomi's identical Watch 2 Pro runtime estimates that the Watch 2 will feature an unchanged 495 mAh battery capacity, too.

Ultimately, it appears that Xiaomi has distinguished the Watch 2 from the Watch 2 Pro in two areas. On the one hand, the Watch 2 has an aluminium alloy case, a cheaper material than the stainless steel that Xiaomi uses in the Watch 2 Pro. On the other hand, the Watch 2 lacks the digital crown found in the Watch 2 Pro. As a result, the Watch 2 has been listed at €219, €50 less than the Watch 2 Pro on the face of it. It is worth noting that Finland applies 24% VAT to its products, though.

Thus, Xiaomi may market the Watch 2 at closer to €210 in some Eurozone members. Either way, the Xiaomi Watch 2 should be much cheaper than the Galaxy Watch6 and Pixel Watch 2. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will sell a Watch 2 LTE. Instead, Keskisen Kello has only shown Wi-Fi options so far. Likewise, the retailer has not disclosed a release date, although we would not be surprised to see the Watch 2 debuting globally alongside the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra on February 25.
