MagyarHonor releases new budget smartwatch with large AMOLED display and long battery life
Honor has now confirmed all core details for its new smartwatch, having unveiled the wearable earlier this week. For reference, Honor refers to the smartwatch both as the 'Choice Haylou Watch' and the 'Choice Watch' in marketing materials. Hereafter, we will refer to the device by the latter name rather than the former.
As expected, the Choice Watch features a 1.95-inch display that sits within a 49.7 x 39.9 x 10.2 mm housing. Despite being a budget option, Honor has built the smartwatch's display around an AMOLED panel just like the more expensive Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro. Additionally, the large display outputs at 550 nits with a 332 PPI pixel density thanks to its 502 x 410-pixel native resolution.
Moreover, the Choice Watch is said to achieve up to 12 days of battery life from its 300 mAh battery, presumably because of its lightweight proprietary OS. Furthermore, the smartwatch can access five satellite systems for route tracking, including GPS and GLONASS. On top of that, Honor claims that the Choice Watch is 5 ATM water resistant and provides 24/7 heart rate, SpO2 and stress monitoring.
The Choice Watch will arrive in India for INR 5,999 (~$72) on February 24. However, the smartwatch will typically cost INR 6,499 (~$78), although it remains to be seen when this price increase will take effect. Honor has not confirmed global availability yet. Nonetheless, the company has listed the smartwatch on its Malaysian website, which indicates that the Choice Watch could soon be available in other markets, too.
