Polar releases new firmware updates for various smartwatches
Polar has released firmware updates for its Vantage V3 and Ignite 3 smartwatches. The Vantage last received software in December, when a problem with the ECG functionality was resolved. The Ignite 3 was also updated late last year for enhanced stability and reduced crashing.
Update version 1.3.5 is now available for the Vantage V3. The changelog states that the company has added minor updates and fixed several bugs. However, the company needs to provide details indicating what has changed. On Reddit, some users have noted that the watch is faster to sync and does not fail as frequently during a forced sync. Plus, it has been suggested that the screen’s raise-to-wake tool has been improved. Neither of these changes have been officially confirmed by Polar.
The Ignite 3 is receiving firmware version 2.2.1, again supposedly bringing more minor tweaks and bug fixes, though a list is not provided. Again, smartwatch owners have taken to Reddit to share their experience, with one user suggesting that their wearable was “snappier” after the update. Whether Polar will release more details regarding the changes included with the updates remains to be seen. You can download firmware version 1.3.5 for the Polar Vantage V3 and version 2.2.1 for the Polar Ignite 3 smartwatches via FlowSync or the Flow app, which is available for iOS and Android.
