Huawei pushes battery saving tool to more smartwatches in new update
Huawei is now rolling out update 4.0.0.219 to the Watch 4. The new software arrived for the Watch 4 Pro earlier in February, with both iterations appearing identical. The Huawei Watch 4 arrived last year with the Watch 4 Pro and saw its last update in December when it received a new arrhythmia analysis tool based on the ECG and PPG sensors.
Software version 4.0.0.219 brings new features, including a larger font, making it easier to view the data displayed on the Watch 4’s screen. There are three new watch faces to choose from, which, translated from the German changelog, appear to be named “Full Weather Display”, “Digital Rhythm”, and “Blooming” or “Flashing”. Plus, you can now set your watch to switch to its Ultra Low Battery Life mode automatically when you reach a low battery level under 10%. Conversely, the battery preservation mode will be switched off when you charge the wearable.
Users of the Watch 4 can download the software via the Huawei Health app. The update is 597 MB, with the company recommending that you ensure you have the latest version of the app before you begin. A progress bar should show you how much time remains for the installation, with the watch restarting on completion.
