Huawei releases battery life enhancing tool for smartwatches in update
The Huawei Watch 4 Pro is receiving software version 4.0.0.219. The wearable’s last update was pushed out in November, bringing with it the upgrade to HarmonyOS 4. The Watch 4 Pro is a newer model from the brand, launching last May alongside the Watch 4, which was updated in December. The latest software for the Pro model includes three new features.
Firstly, a larger font size has been added to the Watch 4 Pro, making viewing information on the screen easier. Huawei has provided three new watch faces for the wearable, with names which roughly translate as “Full Weather Display”, “Digital Rhythm”, and “Blooming” or “Flashing”. The most notable update is listed at the end of the changelog: a new ability to automatically switch to Ultra Long Battery Life mode when the battery level drops below 10% to provide more use time. Plus, the smartwatch will automatically return to standard mode on charging.
The update is particularly large at 597 MB. Huawei suggests users connect to Wi-Fi to download the software and notes that the installation process may take some time to complete. Owners of the Huawei Watch 4 Pro can trigger the latest update via the Huawei Health app.
