OnePlus Watch 2 tipped to match flagship smartphone, foldable and tablet with familiar design

Despite its supposedly advanced health-tracking features and Cobalt Limited Edition, the OnePlus Watch has faded away into underwhelming obscurity by now. Nevertheless, it is said to be revived with a second generation in 2024. Then again, this new iteration might boast a largely unchanged design that, as a well-known leaker observes, might underpin the OEM's love of glass circles.

Max Jambor now asserts that the "OnePlus Watch 2" will indeed reprise its predecessor's round face - which, unfortunately, would rule out any chance of something more like an OPPO Watch 4 Pro with a re-brand for the international market.

Then again, as Jambor points out, OPPO's sister brand might prefer to stick with a circular display, as such a second-gen Watch would fit in better with the OnePlus Open, OnePlus Pad and OnePlus 12, all known or strongly suspected to have prominent camera humps of the same shape.

Hopefully, the putative Watch 2 will do better in terms of specs and software; hopefully a switch to Wear OS rather than a proprietary RTOS skin that helped sink its forebear will not be too much to aim for this time.
