OnePlus' CEO has asserted that the OEM will up its camera game in the upcoming 9 premium series. Its former flagship-killer predecessors have always tried to match up to top flight rivals such as Samsung and Google in this respect, but have always just fallen short.
The leaker RODENT950 had claimed that their maker had turned to Leica to help ensure the 9 and 9 Pro did not meet this fate. However, another prominent leaker purports to contradict this rumor.
Max Jambor (also known as Max J.) has scored some accurate OnePlus-related predictions in the past, particularly in terms of its recent foray into the TWS earbud market. He has taken to Twitter in order to state unequivocally that the OEM has not reached out to Leica - which already co-develops mobile cameras with Huawei - for a new partnership.
Therefore, if the OnePlus 9 does launch with the "UltraShot" logo allegedly spotted on its camera hump, it may not have come from Leica. In other news from this brand, it has officially confirmed that its first-gen fitness band will launch in India on January 11, 2021.
This wearable is also officially SpO2-tracking enabled and is touted to have a 1.1-inch rectangular AMOLED display.
