Update: The TicWatch Pro Sandstone has now been unveiled in full, along with the fact it comes with a new beige strap to match. It is available through Amazon as well as Mobvoi, for the flagship watch's full price of US$349.99.

Original Article: The TicWatch Pro 5 is currently available at 15% off its usual price on Amazon - however, should prospective buyers want the flagship smartwatch in anything but Obsidian (or black), they are still out of luck. Then again, Mobvoi has announced it is nearly ready to release the alternative colorway it has been working on.

The OEM has yet to reveal what this new version of the TicWatch Pro 5 looks like; then again, judging by its new name of "Sandstone", it is likely to be a shade of beige or something similar. Those interested in finding out have a chance to do so for free in the run-up to the new SKU's launch.

The new challenge in question involves not merely "crafting" a new image that can serve as a watch-face for the TicWatch Pro 5 in Sandstone, but using something like Midjourney to do so. Potential winners will need to follow Mobvoi's Twitter- X-based #WatchTheSands campaign for its rules in full, which include generating their image with prompts that match specific themes such as "Sandstone Landscapes".

The competition will run for about 8 days from today (August 8, 2023), at which point the new TicWatch Pro 5 - which will, presumably, have the same Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 SoC and Wear OS 3-based UI as a standard black unit.
