Xiaomi 13 Ultra on course for June global release
Xiaomiui claims to have discovered the global launch date of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the company's premier smartphone and the only Xiaomi 13 series model without a global release. For context, there are already three other Xiaomi 13 series global models, with the Xiaomi 13 Lite having joined the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro at MWC 2023 in February. It is worth noting that the Xiaomi 13 Lite is a re-branded CIVI 2 though; Xiaomi recently replaced with the CIVI 2 with the CIVI 3, too.
Additionally, while Xiaomi has not announced a global release date for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra yet, it teased in April that the smartphone would make its way to 'various international markets in the next few months'. In other words, it seemed likely that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra would be available outside China in late spring or early summer. Now, Xiaomi appears to have published two launch event webpages, one for Hong Kong and another for Taiwan.
Curiously, the pair show different dates within a week of each other. According to Xiaomiui, the earlier event, June 8, is the day when the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will receive a global release. For reference, Xiaomi has scheduled this event for 01:00 Hong Kong Time (HKT) on June 8, equivalent to 17:00 UTC on June 7.
However, the Taiwanese event page shows a June 13 launch date instead, as does an unlisted video that we have embedded below. At any rate, it seems that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be available globally later this month, although it remains orderable for the same money as the Xiaomi 13 Pro at some European retailers. Reputedly, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will carry a €1,499 MSRP though, details of which emerged last month too.
