Test verdict on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra - An import of the smartphone flagship might be worthwhile

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra shows its best side in our test. The smartphone flagship combines very good cameras with extensive hardware equipment. Unfortunately, the large 6.73-inch OLED display, which was developed in cooperation with TCL, does not reach its advertised values in our measurements. But overall, it is still one of the best LTPO panels on the smartphone market.

Even though the Chinese manufacturer hasn't announced the prices for the European market yet, we can easily estimate the price range for the global version of the Ultra model. The 13 Pro sibling model has been available from European vendors since March 2023 for a hefty MSRP of 1,299 Euros (~$1,436). Since a Xiaomi 13 Ultra has to be placed above the Pro model also in terms of its price, interested buyers of the flagship should expect a suggested retail price between 1,400 and 1,500 Euros (~$1,548 - $1,658) in German speaking countries.

On the other hand, as an import device the Xiaomi 13 Ultra currently costs less than 1,100 Euros (~$1,216) from Trading Shenzhen who also provided our test unit. Besides the Chinese ROM, you can also purchase it there with the xoaimi.eu firmware, which removes the language barrier.  In regions where you don't absolutely need band 20 and 28, the price difference of more than 400 Euros might be a good incentive, particularly since the global version of Xiaomi 13 Ultra is still not available. However, fans of Android Auto should also be aware that there can be some problems when trying to connect an imported device with the infotainment system of their cars.
