MagyarSamsung shows new Galaxy AI features shipping with Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones in hands-on videos
Samsung has now released various hands-on videos demonstrating the AI features that it will ship later this month with the Galaxy S24 series. For reference, while the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra may contain relatively few hardware innovations compared to last year's models, Samsung is betting big on its 'Galaxy AI' portfolio. However, it is worth noting that many of these new AI features will be available to older devices through a future One UI 6.1 update.
On the one hand, 'Galaxy AI' includes functionality like Live Translate, a feature that allows people to talk with each other without sharing a common language. According to Samsung, Live Translate can translate conversations in real time and on the device itself rather than relying upon cloud-based servers. Seemingly, the feature works when only one compatible smartphone is present, too.
Additionally, Chat Assist and Transcript Assist are on hand to help generate message replies and transcribe recorded phone calls or meetings, respectively. Similarly, Note Assist can summarise, rephrase or reformat texts for improved clarity, which also extends to translations. Moreover, Samsung has dedicated one video to showcasing its new AI-related camera improvements, such as Space Zoom refinements and Instant Slow-Mo for creating slow-motion versions of normal videos by generating missing frames.
On the other hand, Samsung has integrated features that Google has already showcased, albeit with different names. For example, Generative Edit is Samsung's version of Magic Eraser, which can create completely new images out of existing ones. Also, the Galaxy S24 series offers 'Circle to Search', an S Pen compatible feature that will be coming to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro later this month, too.
