Exynos 2400 lags behind Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in initial AnTuTu run
Samsung has finally revealed important tidbits about the Exynos 2400, such as its core configuration, GPU and NPU prowess. Geekbench scores from last year showed it to trade blows and, in some instances, inch ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. However, Qualcomm takes back its lead in AnTuTu.
Vietnamese YouTuber Khôi Ngọng tested the Exynos 2400-powered Galaxy S24 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy-powered Galaxy S24 Ultra shortly after Samsung unveiled both devices at Galaxy Unpacked. The Galaxy S24 scored 1,699,940 points in AnTuTu, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra inched ahead with 1,819,945 points, effectively resulting in a ~7% performance uplift.
Even though the test was performed on pre-production hardware running unstable software, the playing field is level because both the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra aren't performing as well as they could. The YouTuber himself added that the larger Galaxy S24+ could fare better.
We've seen the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 blaze past 2 million points on AnTuTu, although the Galaxy S24 Ultra may have a hard time doing that due to limited RAM. It'll be interesting to see how far the Exynos 2400 goes with proper firmware and cooling. With the Dimensity 9300 thrown in the mix, Samsung now has two flagship chips to contend against in the Android space alone.
