Samsung Galaxy Ring: New accessory teased at Galaxy Unpacked
This year's Galaxy Unpacked was all about AI and how it makes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra better. The company also masterfully dodged saying "Exynos 2400" despite it powering most Galaxy S4 variants worldwide. Nevertheless, it also teased a new product, the Galaxy Ring. It will compete with the likes of Kospetfit, Movano, Amazfit, and other established players.
Unfortunately, all Samsung showed off was a brief photo of the Galaxy Ring and said nothing about its features, launch date or price. Before that, it talked at length about how Samsung Health helps with sleep apnea. This suggests the Galaxy Ring could launch with some features tailor-made for sleep apnea patients. It is shaped like a doughnut and has what looks like an array of sensors on the inner edge, likely for tracking heart rate, sleep and other vitals.
Then again, the Galaxy Ring has shown up on previous occasions via a trademark listing and then in a Samsung Health beta. A subsequent report stated it could launch sometime by the end of 2024. Therefore, it is possible that Samsung will unveil it alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 later this year.
