Decathlon announces new Riverside EC900 City Nexus e-bike
Decathlon has launched another e-bike, the Riverside EC900 City Nexus, though it is currently only available in Germany. Decathlon describes the electric bicycle as suited to both transporting luggage around a city or an off-road adventure.
The EC900 is powered by a 250W Bosch Active Line Plus motor with 50Nm torque for assistance at speeds up to 25 kph (~16 mph) across four modes. A 625Wh PowerTube battery, stored in the downtube, allows you to ride with assistance for up to 100 km (~60 miles). For suspension, the model uses an SR Suntour SF15 Nex with 63 mm travel. The 8-speed model uses a Shimano Nexus geared hub alongside MT200 hydraulic disc brakes and a Bosch Intuvia display showing the remaining battery level and your speed. Plus, the e-bike comes with various accessories like mudguards, a kickstand, a luggage rack, a frame lock and a headlight.
The model has a 6061 aluminum frame available in three sizes, with the medium e-bike weighing 30 kg (~66 lbs). You can now buy the Decathlon Riverside EC900 City Nexus e-bike in Germany for €2,999. It is unclear whether or when the model could launch in other European countries.
