Decathlon BTWIN E-Fold 900 new electric folding bike launches
The Decathlon BTWIN E-Fold 900 electric folding bike is now available in Europe. The model was announced in late April, with the company claiming it could fold in one second, making transportation and storage easier. Unfolding is also said to be fast thanks to a patented hinge locking system, requiring just one movement.
The E-Fold 900 has a brushless 250W motor in the rear wheel offering 35Nm torque and assistance at speeds up to 25 kph (~16 mph). You can choose between three speeds modes or a walking setting that powers the bike at 4 kph (~2.5 mph). A 252Wh battery allows you to ride with assistance for up to 55 km (~34 miles), with the maximum capacity retained for at least 500 cycles. The 7-speed e-bike has a Shimano Tourney drivetrain, Tektro T275 hydraulic disc brakes and 20-inch wheels fitted with Schwalbe Big Apple tires. Accessories include a 10 Lux headlight, rear lights, mudguards and a bell.
The model’s 6061 aluminum frame is offered in one size, suitable for riders who are 145 to 195 cm (~4 ft 9" to 6 ft 5") tall. It weighs 19 kg (~42 lbs) and comes in Abyss Grey (gray/blue). You can now buy the Decathlon BTWIN E-Fold 900 electric folding bike in the Netherlands for €1,749.99 and in Spain for €1,709.99. The model is slightly cheaper in France and Italy, retailing for €1,699.99. The e-bike remains out of stock in the UK, priced at £1,499.99; it is unclear when it will go on sale in this country.
